The Lucas County Treasurer’s Office has launched the Foreclosure Request Program, which allows eligible purchasers to request tax foreclosure on delinquent parcels. The goal is to support responsible reinvestment and help return vacant or underused properties to productive use.

Submitting a request begins a review process to confirm eligibility. If the Treasurer approves the request, the purchaser will be asked to provide a $5,000 deposit per parcel to cover court, title, and administrative costs. Deposits are refunded if the property is redeemed or if the purchaser is not the successful bidder at the Sheriff’s Sale.

Submitting a request does not guarantee that a foreclosure will occur or that the property will be available for purchase. All decisions are made at the Treasurer’s discretion.
